Open on the most surprising frame, not the build-up. If your twist happens at second four, cut the first three.
Motion and pacing
Something should change in the first two seconds: a camera move, a cut, an action. Aim for a change every second and a half.
A face, early
People stop for people. Get a face on screen right away, even in product content.
Text on screen
A short hook line on top, five words or fewer, tells people why to keep watching.
The loop
End on a frame that flows back into the start. Loops rack up rewatches, which the feed reads as interest.
